Will Daxxify Become the New Botox?

What’s A Neuromodulator?

All neuromodulators (products like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and now Daxxify) do essentially the same thing – they treat dynamic wrinkles. And yes, there are different types of wrinkles!

There are two types of wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are formed over time by facial movement.  Laughing, smiling, frowning, and squinting lead to dynamic wrinkles. Static wrinkles, on the other hand, form naturally with age. Static wrinkles appear as collagen and elastin break down, gravity takes its toll, or genetics cause thin, sagging skin. Neuromodulators treat dynamic wrinkles. When the product is injected into the wrinkle or area of movement, it blocks the message from the nerve to the muscle to make the movement. Essentially, it smooths and minimizes existing wrinkles while preventing new ones from forming.  After all, If you're not making the movement (or as much), then you're not creating the lines! Most commonly treated areas with a neuromodulator are: forehead, frown lines and crows feet (under eye).

So why is Daxxify different?

While all neuromodulators are very similar in their chemical makeup, as similar as the differences between popular sodas like Coke and Pepsi, the primary appeal to Daxxify is that its wrinkle-reducing effects are expected to last twice as long as any other on the market. 

For more than ten years, Botox was the only neuromodulator available. And while Botox will always have our heart, we’re happy to see the industry continuing to improve and provide other options that allow more people to experience the confidence that comes from reducing and, at times, reversing the aging process. No medical aesthetic treatment is or should be one size fits all! 

Daxxify will be the first product to last longer than 3-4 months. In fact, it’s double the duration – without being double the price of other neuromodulators like Botox! In addition, you can begin seeing results in as little as two days post-treatment.

Something unique to Daxxify’s innovative formulation is that it is also the only treatment on the market that does not contain a human or animal byproduct. 

Like Botox or Dysport, Daxxify dosage is dependent on each individual patient and their goals and requires zero downtime. Although, some patients have seen long-lasting results using Daxxify in as little as two treatments. 

Daxxify is a safe and effective treatment (and was even studied in the largest-ever clinical study for frown line treatment). It’s going to be a great option for those who want their wrinkle relaxer to last longer without paying double – or even triple!
